I create multimedia compositions using sensors and live-electronics. My focus is to expand the means of expression for performers, by giving them the ability to control parameters of the electronics in innovative ways. The resulting pieces are a symbiosis of human and machine.
Vincent Michalke, born 1991 in Oldenburg, studied composition at HMTM Hannover with Joachim Heintz and Gordon Williamson, and is currently studying electronic composition with Michael Beil at HfMT Cologne. His works were performed at the Kunst Festspiele Herrenhausen 2013/14, in Sprengel Museum Hannover, Kestnergesellschaft Hannover, at Next Generation Festival in ZKM Karlsruhe, Achtbrücken Festival and Departure 2016 in Cologne, among others. He is also doing scientific research on movement sonification at the Motorik Labor of the Leibniz University in Hannover since 2012.
